:-)

This morning I was all packed and ready to go over to son's house to paint in the kitchen. However, my car key was nowhere to be found! I searched and searched and in the end Bill came home with the spare key. This evening, Bill found the missing key. It was inside the tissue box in my car! LOL! I must have dropped the key as I was getting out of the car last night. :-)

Did you know that Bernie has 70,000 volunteers and Hillary has 12,000 volunteers?

There is a huge Bernie House Parties event on July 29th. Anybody here going to it? This article is very worth reading!

Kiddle and dad arrive tomorrow. For two beastly hot work days. . . . Even here.

puddle said...

Well, for this minute, not bad. 70ยบ inside (A/C was on all night; off now, for a while). Reasonably dried out. I assume the boys are on their way, but haven't heard, yet. Sometimes he lets me know when he leaves; other times not.

Rereading about the A1C last night, and realized I was thinking that a 6 put you over into diabetes. But it's not: it's 6.5, so I only have 1/10th point to drop back into pre-diabetes. Long term goal is to try for normal, but I am SO encouraged!!

As extra cold as last summer was, is this one's being extra hot! Seems the mellow center is gone. Or at least for now. Be glad when this one's done, unless it changes!!

[captcha's asking me to identify the pictures of "food", lol! but the pics are so fuzzy, don't think I could.]

whitznd said...

Such a joyful picture of our leaders! Glad to hear of your test results, puddle. Everyone seems to be on the mend. I have no voice. no idea why, no sore throat, no sniffles, no symptoms except for an occasional cough. Oh and no voice.

I'm hosting one of those Bernie Events. put it online and was at capacity by the end of the day. Also encouraged other friends to eventually host house parties. Timing was not right for some for this event, but the will is there. So excited.

Today, just resting to try to heal this voice thing. Love and hugs to all.

Shirlee Murphy said...

Expected to be in the mid 90's here for the next ten days! THAT will keep me off the streets
will need to do extra walks to our ground floor mailroom!

Glad your helpers are arriving, Puddle. Couldn't live here without mine.
Hope your voice returns soon, Barb.

We have had some mighty thunderstorms in downtown GSO for the last week
more expected in the late afternoons and evenings with the heat.

That was the problem I had with the food, Puddle...too fuzzy, mostly browns
and yellows which could be ANYTHING! Love to all!

puddle said...

Had to laugh at the mountain goat--Thankful surely would see that as food, lol!

Ohhh myyy! Just a brief note before I fall over from exhaustion. We spent 11 hours at Youngest's house today painting in the kitchen. Mah*Sweetie got the rest of the walls painted the chosen soft blue, while I painted two coats of primer onto the cabinets. Mind you, that's not including the cabinet doors which sit read to be primed, in my garage. So after three days spent painting there, we are taking tomorrow off. I go back Monday….

listener said...

That is so good, Barb! Thanks for hosting!! So good that people responded so swiftly! At the point I might not even be able to ATTEND one, as we are so incredibly busy with the Kitchen. I am happy to be doing this, though. And I already know Bernie's views, and I already volunteer. So I think I can be spared. But do post about it and tell us if he says something groundbreaking, unexpected or new! :-)

listener said...

Do what you can to stay cool, Shirlee and puddle. It's rough working (and walking) in the heat. It got hot and muggy in the kitchen today. Whoooo!

Barb, are you gargling? And do you feel a little discomfort or strangeness in the area of your vocal chords? That's what happens for me when I get laryngitis. I hope it's just a brief thing. Let us know how it goes. ♥

puddle said...

Help brigade just pulled out. May I say, I'm astonished? As usual.

And a good time was had by all. (I think.) Me, for sure.

Now, I'm going up, and turning the A/C on, lol!

Shirlee Murphy said...

Great to have a help brigade, isn't it? I am always so happy that Brenda
seems to actually like spending her Sundays shopping cooking, organizing my fridge
so I can reach things easily, opens what I can't etc, after preparing what we have
for dinner. Very grateful.

listener said...

I loved reading about your Fam coming through as your Help Brigade.

Bill and I still are the Help Brigade for our kids.

I wonder if we'll ever have a Help Brigade help us. Sounds delightful! :-D

Bernie is packing audiences in the South!

puddle said...

I believe help flows both ways (all else being equal). That it's there when the need is there seems to be the important factor.

What is really odd to me is what friends the ex and I have become. We agree on virtually nothing at all in the world. But we have this fifty odd year history, which seems to matter, lol! And he's always been an honorable man. Which is important.

whitznd said...

What a great article on Bernie in the SW! YAY! thanks for posting the link.

Jo_in_Vermont said...

Bernie is hitting the red states hard. he'll be in NOLA next weekend!

listener please, if there is way that you can contact with Bernie's campaign I would like to ask them to consider a sign language interpreter for his events - either try to recruit a local volunteer for each rally or maybe hire an intern to travel with them. the University of Vermont has a strong sign language program, they might have connections. my son is deaf so may also have some ideas about connecting with the deaf community. I think this is really important and the sooner they can connect the better imo.

whitznd said...

I second Jo's suggestion!

Shirlee Murphy said...

Third it!

puddle said...

Jo, what a lovely idea!

Pat said...

Hi Friends,

Yes, a great idea, Jo. I just read on Facebook Robert Reich saying that no politician since Bobby Kennedy has had such crowds attending his events so early before the election. Yes. I have the sense that we're all Bernie supporters here, and how much we need a real change in our politics and government.

A beautiful day here, flowers everywhere. Am feeling better with this sinus condition. Went to the doctor on Friday, and he said he's had lots of patients with it. The rains, the wetness and molds, the particulates in the air from the fires in Canada. It's not fun not to breathe. But, things are improving.

Glad to be here with you.

puddle said...

Raining, and much cooler. And soggier, lol! Ah, well.

Pat, so good to hear the breathing is improving. Struggling for air is not fun.

puddle said...

Triumph of the day--when the help-brigade pulled out, it left wet laundry on the line (or at least very damp laundry. . . ). By six last night, it was *looking* fluffy, and there was a 60% chance of rain overnight. I tried to talk myself out of checking--wanted to make sure it was really dry before making the trek. Back and forth, back and forth. Finally, bit the bullet, and went out. It was mildly damp along the lower hems. Brought it all back in.

So today's fairly serious rains made me feel like I'd won! (Against my ongoing and inborn procrastination.)

whitznd said...

exchanged emails with Team Bernie and yes they have ASL signers at all of the big rally's! YAY!

Congrats Puddle, LOL!

Glad you're doing better, Pat

much love to all of you!

Jo_in_Vermont said...

thank you so much Barb! can you ask them one more thing? to get the signers on camera as Bernie is speaking, then people can see it on the videos at home and on big screens at the rallies, otherwise the only people who will be able to read their signing are possibly a few rows in the front. I have not seen anyone signing at any of the rallies and I have watched a few so they must be out of camera view. or if you prefer could you send me the email addy or fwd their message so that I can ask them? <3

FYI, I am coming down to the wire on losing my home. lots of balls being juggled right now and not sure what the outcome will be but if the court doesn't come through for me on Friday I will have to sell my home by Aug 11th or they will auction it off and I may lose some or all of my equity. I should have had 6 - 7 months notice prior to sale date but ended up having only one month notice.

Pat said...

Jo, I'm sorry to hear about your possibly losing your home. I will say a prayer and think of you. You have had so much stress with this situation. I hope it can be resolved for you, and you won't have to go through this again. I know how much you love your home and your garden. You are in our hearts, Jo.

puddle said...

76ยบ and 70% humidity. Life is good. The rest of the week is moderating.

puddle said...

Ah, Jo, didn't see that before I posted. I'm SO sorry!! This kind of chit can hurt so much, heart and soul and body. Lighting some prayer candles for you, and keeping you tucked up my sleeve. ♥

Jo_in_Vermont said...

thank you puddle! <3

whitznd said...

Oh JO! so sorry about your home. Hope it all works out for you. I emailed back to the Bernie campaign and requested that the signers be more visible on camera for the folks watching after the fact.

much love to all!

Jo_in_Vermont said...

thank you for your thoughts Barb and for getting back to them about that!

xoxoxo to all.

Shirlee Murphy said...

Jo...this is terrible....so glad you are taking Pat's advice.
We all LOVE the places we live...after we are old enough
to realize this is the right place for me for this time!
Best, best wishes....

puddle said...

Today much cooler and more comfortable than predicted. That's the kind of outcome I can live with, lol!

My tea baggin cuz from Orange County is making a mess of my facebook feed. I may go unfollow her. It really is getting a bit much.

puddle said...

Okay, I did. First person I've ever unfollowed.

puddle said...

Take that back. The second. First was a woman who used to post abused pet pics. All day. Every day.

listener said...

GREAT idear, Jo, and so glad to hear there are ASL signers when Bernie speaks…(hoping they are also on camera)! Thanks for checking on that, Barb! I can't believe it's been two days since I popped by. Or maybe I can. I am putting in 10 hour days to get son's house ready in time.

♥ Jo ♥ You are in my heart for the awful waiting for Friday. I am wishin' and a-hopin', hoping' and a-prayin' that it turns out well this time! This should truly all be extended because you didn't get notice sooner! Is there a lower that could push for that? Or a Vermont Rep? Waiting with you. =HUG=

listener said...

"lower" was supposed to be "lawyer" ~ !!!

Pat said...

Good Morning,

Nice day coming up here. Jo, thoughts your way. I'm wondering, do you have a Plan B, a Plan C? We so much hope that this will be resolved for you in a way that's feasible and secure. Our love to you, Jo.

Jo_in_Vermont said...

things are looking up a bit. contacted a realtor who I have known for years, his wife was my deaf son's speech pathologist for 4 or 5 years and taught him to pronounce words/sounds that he cannot hear - thanks to her and her assistant he speaks beautifully. anyway, we have a plan whether I get an extension or not. still up in the air where I will go. I have to say this really sucks, I love my little home and wanted to live here as long as I could, right up to my end if possible. guess a new adventure is in the cards for me. xoxoxo

puddle said...

Jo. this just sucks (unprintable)!! Aching for you and with you. But am glad you have a plan. And, yes, the future can surprise you. I certainly never planned to end where I have, but do love it--so some surprises can be nice. . . . Still: prayers, and love and light from here to there.

Shirlee Murphy said...

From here also, Jo. When I moved from Michigan to the Texas
Gulf coast I thought I would stay there. A few tropical storms,
health problems that couldn't be handled with our one doctor
and small, but very good hospital changed my mind...here I am
and I love it!!! Now I am determined to stay in my own apartment
and not end up in a 'facility'----

Thinking of you all...with love..

puddle said...

Jo, this is for you (FWIW) http://www.iflscience.com/health-and-medicine/these-eye-drops-shrunk-cataracts-dogs

Jo_in_Vermont said...

thank you all! just got back from a few hours with my grandsons, that's always good medicine!

puddle thanks, I had heard something about that but hadn't read anything, very cool! I've already had both of my eye surgeries and they turned out pretty well.

sweet dreams! xoxoxo

listener said...

So very glad to hear there's a plan either way, Jo. ♥ I'll be thinking of you all day tomorrow. Send me a PM and let me know when you have a moment. XOXOXXX

Today I got the first coat of paint on the cabinets at Youngest's house! :-) I also got a two coats of trim paint onto the radiators and bannister and three coats of trim paint around the opening over the sink.

Tomorrow I go back for the second coat on the cabinets, after which Mah*Sweetie and I are going out to dinner and to a romantic comedy play set in Ireland called Outside Mullingar.

On Saturday it's back to working on the cabinet doors!

As D-I-L's BP remains an issue, I am more than glad to be helping to feather their nest.

listener said...

Enroute to Youngest's house this morning, I had a "deer in the headlights" moment, when a first-year deer stepped out about 25' in front of my car. We managed to miss each other and I swear he looked apologetic.

well, I did buy some more time. attorney came out strong against it, but she's new to my case so filled her and the judge in on what has been happening. judge asked atty if 30 day extension would work. attorney apparently had sympathy for my situation, said yes 30 days, maybe 60 or 90, she will check with the mortgage company and let us know what the new sale date is sometime next week. very thankful for that!

I have an appt with the realtor at 2 pm today so will know more then. thank you for your love and support ladies!!

will msg you listener! you must be so tired, glad that you and your honey will have a lovely evening!

whitznd said...

Ah, Jo. Good to hear about buying some time. hope they go for the 90 days.

Listener - BIZZY BIZZY!!!!!

Got an email saying that my "propaganda" stuff from Bernie is on its way for me to give out at our House Party. Getting excited! Bernie needs to come out with a strong support message for the Black (and other colors) community. Also, the Muslim community. the GOPer A**holes are using the code phrase that "it isn't the radical Presbyterians that are coming after us". So vile. Hillary made a mild tweet about it and Bernie has said nothing. I may go back to that email and make a suggestion. Can't get to it until this evening as the article I saw that in is on my home email.

Much love to all XOXO

whitznd said...

ah, clever me. I forwarded the email with the article to work. Unfortunately, I don't have the Bernie email here to forward the article to him.

I sent it here so I'd have a chance to read it before anyone got here. Here's the link. someone make it live for me please.

XOXO

What a day!

♥ JO! ♥ That's excellent news!! I'm with Barb, hoping for 90 days. A reprieve is such a good thing. =Whew!=

I did indeed get the second coat of paint accomplished on the kitchen cabinets. Now on to Phase 2: Cabinet Doors! But at least that happens in my own garage. The plan is for us to hang the cabinet doors next Thursday, but oh my goodness it's supposed to hit 91F here that day! Egads!

This evening Bill and I went to the Playhouse to see "Outside Mullingar." What a fabulous play! If it comes to your neck of the woods, please do go!! It was new last year on Broadway and is so beautifully written. It was also beautifully performed tonight! The Irish accents were spot on, and with only 4 characters in the show, it's amazing how captivating it was. We have been going to plays here for over 30 years and this was our favourite thus far. We liked it so well we wrote a Brava/Bravo message for the cast and crew, and left it at the box office. As we left we noted the folks in the box office showing it to one another and smiling. :-)

Shirlee Murphy said...

SO glad, Jo has an extension, Puddle saved her laundry,
Barb will get the "Bernie Propaganda", Pat is well and
Listener had a night out with her honey.

Still in the high 80's here so pretty much inside,
except for a nightly walk to our ground floor mail room!
Sometimes meet apartment neighbors there for
a chat. Actually got three books back I had loaned
to a woman about three years ago. I had reminded her
several times...and thought they were gone for good.
I need to remember a hairdesser's advice...
"Shirlee, never loan a book you expect to get back."

HA! Love you all.
