I saved that for you! or any other friend - since I create the threads I have an unfair advantage for Howard firsties, lol!

Kinda thought that was the case, lol!

Wonder how Denise's convention went today? And what a lovely place to have a convention.

Was thinking about PTSD -- My dad was in the South Pacific, and he and his men were occupying an island. His men found dead Japanese, and put their head on pikes in front of their tents. He made them take them down and bury them, with services. He said it was the only time he ever *enjoyed* having power over them.

A thank you to Puddle for putting up the "Vote Against Amendment One" video on dfa. The whole proposed amendment is such a hateful thing---potentially affecting even the children in civil unions. Thanks for helping to spread the word, Puddle.
(As well as the music :)

Shirlee, it was a *pleasure* -- it's a lovely piece of work, and a great community. Hope it works!!

LOL! I posted a recipe, then realised it was intended for the recipe thread. So I moved it over there.

Good for your Dad!
You come from good stock, I see.
(Not surprised. ♥ )

Hi Shirlee in NC! :-)

Are you anywhere near Raleigh?
My son is graduating in May with his Ph.D. from NCSU.

☆☆☆ It's awesome to have an ARCHIVE again!! ☆☆☆

It *is* nice about the archive. Funny the stuff you hardly notice, but really miss when it's gone.

Listener--Raleigh is about an hour or so east of Greensboro.
UNC seems to be a great system. We have UNCG here It has a strong women's studies program--having been originally Women's College. Greensboro has been a leader in the state in support of education. This was the first city in NC to vote to approve a tax to support their schools--because they felt the state allotment was not enough. I have a beloved--but very Republican son-in-law who said incredulously, "You mean they voted to tax themselves??" Yep,they did!

Hurrah for Greensboro, Shirlee in NC!!

If I'm not mistaken, UNC and NCSU are different universities. NCSU is sometimes referred to simply as "State" because it's North Carolina State University versus University of North Carolina.

That's a lot of education down there! LOL! I spent about three weeks in Raleigh 5 years ago, helping to take care of my first granddaughter when my DIL first went back to work and my son was in the midst of final exams. He aced the exams, and I got to sing to a very sweet babe a lot. ♡

BTW, it's really cool that we can do so many symbols here!!

Feel free to cut & paste, folks! :-)

Hello!

My little friend from down the block is jammin' with my headphones. He thinks they are cool, how about that?

puddle the convention was one of those if it could go wrong, it would. Two counters came totally damaged, and the guys on the floor tried their best to cover it up. Then the plants they sent (I guess they were in our stock, some old silk palms) were so beat up and tacky that I had to go to the back office to order new ones. I also picked up a couple of nice florals to draw the eye away from the damage and toward the color. And they matched our brand colors, so it looks real nice. All this for a bunch of pharmacists that only want to pay less for our drugs, or use the cheapest. Ah yes, pharmacists don't only survive in Walgreens and CVS. They are KEY decision makers as to what insurance companies and hospitals use on formulary and what tier it hits.

Enough shop talk. I'm working from the field tomorrow, as it is 420, a day for some activism for the medicinal cannabis community.

Gotta send the little guy home, he's a smart cookie, just needs someone to remind him of it.
