Thanks so much for the links, Puddle. It surely does look--from the comments that Crawford who sponsored this and now says he will vote against it--is to put it politely--a SLIME BALL! I also see he was part of the plan to bring down our good governor Beverly Perdue. Agreeing with one of the comments--he really seems not to like or trust women! But, ah.justice-- he has a primary opponent! Again thanks for the links and posting the local musicians and civic leaders video at dfa--twice!!! Who knows how many people your work influenced? Many, many thanks--
That's the heck of political work, eh? You never know. I'm always amazed that the naysayers believe that they can naysay every day in every way for years, and think that their single vote on election day will counteract all the damage they've done.
Reminds me of trying to teach my children that saying I'm sorry isn't as important as *being* sorry when you know you've done rotten.In fact, Saying it when you don't mean it is worse than just not saying it at all. . . .
So true,so true--personally I would rather have my family leave a legacy of being known as kind and joyful people rather than constant carpers. They are all five of them--six if we include our Danish exchange student from 42 years ago and still close--good, positive, hard working middle-agers now. So, I reckon they will stay in the same mode and I can kick back and relax!!!
And I am assuming the current thread at dfa may be the last--best wishes to the hard workers there I have been reading about over the years. Will miss their stories, news, but especially their voices and personalities. I hope more will join us here at Jo's Place!
I'm thinking we prolly have tomorrow. But ya never know, when they won't *speak* to you. I'll miss 'em, too. I do hope Phil drops by occasionally for an update. And rd, too.
it lasted a lot longer than I thought it would, that old watercooler. what a lot of memories, what a lot of love and compassion and downright common sense we found there. friendship. common cause. HOPE. may it all live on.
I did cry. I don't know why I was surprised by the tears. Edwin's and my courtship started on the blog. And our relationship with each other, and other bloggers and the blog were all mixed together. His death notice to the community, and their responses were on that blog.
Someone just stole into my heart and ripped up a whole lot of love letters banded in fading blue ribbon.
I'm there with you. I didn't cry this morning when I saw that it was over- I had already done that and said goodbye to the blog pretty much a few days ago. just the habit of logging on there will be with me for a while I think.
but thanks to the blog we have friendships that will last a lifetime and memories that may fade but can never be stolen.
Good Morning, Yes, it's gone, but it will really never be gone from memory. Good friends, ideas, experiences, and even the conflicts were valuable in knowing ourselves, what we hold dear, and how we treat each other.
A new day, and it begins here and in other places. Wonder what it will bring.

A little nepotism, lol! This is my sister's blog. She's an antiques dealer, a crafter, and a do it your selfer, and has way more energy than two of 'em.

I also persuaded her and her hubby to vote for Howard Dean in the Utah primaries 8 years ago. . . . They were asking a lot of the same questions the general public was: he seems angry, what *about* that scream?, socialist?, etc. I just quietly answered, without rancor (I love and trust her a lot), and kept answering. It worked. It was a *real* lesson to me politically. Prolly Phil would have already figured out the methodology, lol!
Heh! I just went to my DFA account, and changed my email (an old unused account that doesn't hit my mailbox at home). No more begging for money email from DFA disguised as "action points". . . .
Well--this is a habit. Wake up, go check the blog and see how everyone is. Oh,itis peaceful.and no sress. Rest friends--so we we have energy for the coming battle with the Romneyites. Primary here in NC on May 8with the horrid Amendment One--but also some important progressive races. Back to bed.
I have now made this my homepage instead of the watercooler. An ache in my heart when I did that. Memories, friends, sharing, loving. Now we start anew here.
