Howard Πρῶτος μεταξὺ ἴσων!
And if you said: That's Greek to me, you'd be right, lol!
It's Greek for Primus inter pares est (which is Latin for First among equals. . . .
The Latin I knew; the Greek provided by our wonderful web!
Jumping in to say "hi" to all here at our new site!!!
Hi, Karen, *good* to see ya!! And Welcome!!
Hey puddle... where's our *like* button!! :o)
and "Hi there" also to Karen.
Puddle, the link on the dfa thread at the "disputed" HA! quote leads to my daughter's fb page. She must have set it up on my computer also. I tried fb about2-3 years ago and was suddenly overwhelmed. I tried to back out before the thing was official but apparently I am still out there--although I don't have an account. But I am sure Brenda will be glad to check anything you pass along for me.
and I also love K. G.
but don't own a copy.
Shirlee, that's amazing! What a small world we live in. I tried fb a few years ago, and backed out. But they only let you "semi-retire" not delete. When I came back because of a friends death, used my own name, so there's a ghost account there with my other handle on it, lol! I think it inflates their numbers if you can't really resign.
Yes, I think at the time I thought I would try--and was not entirely through the process then changed my mind and tried to back out was about the same time of accusations of fb
not letting you out--no matter what!
Off for an evening with my daughter!
Firefox has been threatening to give me one more warning before downloading 11 on me, so a bit the bullet and went ahead this afternoon. Bad decision. With trying to adapt/figure out the new blogger interface, I prolly didn't need to be trying to figure out FF11, too. Both of them are stupid/pointless updates.
Prolly none of this helped by other lifestyle changes I'm trying to make --> went wheat/grain/starch free two months ago. Went on Jack Kruse's Pro-Leptin regime three days ago. And am trying off and on to quit smoking. AND figure out how to pay my medical bills, ack. I do believe I've had more fun than this, lol!
Wonderful to have children who really like their aging Moms!
A nice dinner and then a Mike Cross concert at the Carolina theater in Greensboro with my in-town daughter.
And all within two blocks--easy walking distance. I am racking up W. B. points for non or old vehicle use since moving here from the wide open spaces of Texas!
What makes a "community.?" How do they function successfully for the good of all? This has been on my mind for sometime now--since our originally beloved dfa-- began seemingly falling apart. It is also a question W.B addresses often. Just wondering what others think so that we can make Jo's bfa3.0 work as well as possible.
Puddle, I have two daughters who are now gluten free--one because she wanted to lose weight, the other because she knows there are immune related conditions from both her parents. Could you be trying to change too much at once and your body says "slow down, lady." Just a thought
Well, I've been ultra low carb for many years, so going wheat free wasn't that big a leap. The pro-Leptin regime has been harder 'cause he wants your primary protein load 30 minutes after you wake up, lol! Try eating 50/70 grams of protein in that time frame. . . . But he's right: if you can do it, it holds you for way beyond the normal four hours, kills the afternoon fade, and with luck will eventually get my Leptin sensitively back to something like normal. If blogger and firefox were half as sane, I'd be good to go, lol!
I'm fascinated by the Leptin science: it addresses something I've been waiting fifty years to have explained, and it's really exciting.

I'll muddle through what the dimwits at google and firefox have done. It's just that *today* hasn't been much fun.
Community: every one I've ever belonged to had one or two at least, really destructive personalities. How they're dealt with and/or IF they're dealt with can be the difference between whether the community survives or not.
But also: you need a certain volume/number. Otherwise, too much falls on too few. For a blog, about twenty active people seems to be optimal as a minimum. When it falls much below that, the bones start to show. And they're sharp.
For now, encouraging people to come, to listen, to contribute is about all we can do.
